WESTFIELD: Paul Charles Labarre, 61, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, passed away Saturday, May 14th after a courageous battle with cancer. Paul was born April 25, 1955, son to Ernest and Doris (Schoenenberger) Labarre. He was born and raised in Holyoke and was a graduating member of the Holyoke High School, Class of 1973. He later moved to Westfield where he made his home and raised his family. Paul spent over 30 years as a truck driver beginning his career with ServiStar Corporation and most recently for Harris Rebar. He took great pride in his work and loved his job as a truck driver. In his younger years, Paul was an avid golfer and hunter. He enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox, traveling with his family and cruising with his wife. His love of cruising and sense of adventure sent him to Hawaii, various Caribbean islands and most recently the Panama Canal. Paul was a charismatic, outgoing person who loved to meet new people and made friends everywhere he went. His witty sense of humor and his contagious laugh, were just a few of the many things, those who knew him will love and miss. He loved spending time with his family whether it was a holiday occasion or a casual barbeque; he enjoyed being with his wife, children, grand and great grand children. Paul is survived by not only his parents Ernest and Doris Labarre, but his loving wife of 38 years Deborah (Stoothoff) Labarre. He was the devoted father to Shannon Carlson and her husband Paul of Lanesborough, MA, Brooke Labarre and her fiancé Dana Kratochvil of Russell, Jennifer Labarre and her fiancé Adam Paquette of Becket, Justin Labarre and Courtney Kazierad, and Jeremy Labarre of Westfield. Paul was the cherished grandfather to Derick, Travis, Savannah, Brynja, Dylan, John, Cooper, Carissa, Calla, and great grandfather to Kaelynne, Mason and Natalie. He was the caring brother to Michael and Daniel Labarre. There will be calling hours Saturday from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Westfield Funeral Home and Cremation, 4 Princeton Street, Westfield with a Funeral Home Service to follow at 12:00pm.
