Philip D. White

WESTFIELD: Philip D. White, 83, (1938 – 2022) passed away at Baystate Medical Center on Saturday, March 12, 2022. He was born in Wardsboro, VT to the late Myron and Thelma (Ingram) White. Philip proudly served his country in the Massachusetts Air National Guard at Barnes ANG Base from 1958-1962. He was employed by Old Colony Envelope Company for many years and retired as head machine adjuster. Phil enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and fixing things – even if they didn’t need fixing. He loved working on cars and refurbishing them, his own Ford Ranger still running strong at over 450,000 miles. He was an avid New England Patriots fan, who every week without fail would have his picks ready for the Sunday games. He cared deeply for his family, always putting them first before anything else.

Philip is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Dorene A. (Sharples) White, son Stephen F. White and his wife Julie of Westfield, seven grandchildren Darrell White, Heather Gladwin and her husband Erik, Heidi White and her husband Paul Spanagel, Kara White, Kyle White and his wife Melony, Matthew White, Ethan White, and five great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his brother William M. White in 2003, and his son Alan D. White in 2020.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 19th, at 3PM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St., Westfield, MA 01085. Visiting hours will precede the service from 1-3 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Philip’s memory may be directed to the American Legion Post 124, 38 Broad St., Westfield, MA 01085. www.firtionadams.com
