SOUTH HADLEY, MA: Phyllis D. Nomakeo, 66, passed away on April 15, 2016 at home. She was born in Westfield to the late Adam and Jennie (Pitoniak) Nomakeo on June 7, 1949 and was a 1967 graduate of Westfield High School. She moved to South Hadley in 1990 and was an avid Red Sox fan. She loved to write poetry, also wrote a screen play and had a wonderful sense of humor that will be greatly missed. Phyllis worked for Digital Equipment Corp, Unicare, WWLP-TV and McKesson Corp. Phyllis leaves her sister, Mary Ann Hastings and her husband William, her brother Thomas, nephews, nieces, aunts, and an uncle. She also leaves her longest and dearest friends, Lynda Ferranti and Marylou Sabourin. A special thank you to the Baystate VNA and Hospice nurses, Kate and Lucy as well as her home health aid, Donna. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9AM from the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, MA followed by a Mass at 10AM in Holy Trinity Church, Elm St. Westfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Rd. Westfield. Visiting hours will be held on Monday 4-6PM in the funeral home. www.firtionadams.com
