WINCHESTER, NH – Phyllis (Patt) Woodger, 92, a longtime resident of Granville, MA, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2013 at the Applewood Nursing Home in Winchester, New Hampshire. Phyllis was born in Warren, MA., on August 16, 1920 the youngest daughter of the late Hermann and Mary (Wackerbarth) Patt. She attended the Granville and Westfield Public Schools school system and graduated from Keuka College with a degree in Business and Education. Phyllis was a member of the Granville Federated Church, Granville Library Club as well as the Granville Quilt and Needlework Guild. She served a number of years as a member of the Granville School Committee. She was a teacher in Westfield School System and retired after many years of service. After her husband died she returned to work at the Springfield Hobby Center for another decade. Phyllis was an avid quilter, loved to garden and create in all mediums.
In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by her beloved husband, George E. Woodger in 1984; a sister, Marjorie Kraus; and a brother, Hermann Patt. She is survived by her six devoted children, Richard Woodger and his wife, Mary, of Granville, Cheryl Stewart and her husband, Brett, of Australia, Thomas Woodger and his wife, Margaret, of New Hampshire, Thurza Sillman and her husband, Robert, of New Hampshire, Charles Woodger and his partner, Cheryl, of Granville and Roxanne Blaze and her husband, David, of Granville. She is also survived by sixteen cherished grandchildren, and eleven beloved great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Friday, July 5th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Granville Federated Church, 16 Granby Road, Granville, MA 01034. All are invited to continue a celebration of Phyllis’s life with a luncheon in the fellowship hall of the church. Burial will be private.
