3:02 p.m.: incapacitated person, Mechanic Street, a caller reports an intoxicated man is sleeping in the parking lot, the responding officer reports the man is not intoxicated and requests an ambulance, the man was transported to Noble Hospital for treatment;
4:42 p.m.: found property, Franklin Street, a resident came to the station to surrender a cellphone found on Franklin Street, the phone was logged in and stored for safe keeping;
4:46 p.m.: arrest, Edgewood Apartments, a patrol officer reports he encountered the subject of an outstanding warrant, Heriberto E. Arriaga, 22, of 134 Union St., was arrested on the warrant;
5:25 p.m.: disturbance, Summer Street, a caller reports that his girlfriend is intoxicated, combative and refusing to leave, the responding officer reports a routine check revealed the woman to be the subject of two outstanding warrants, Melissa L. Trudell, 37, of 30 Summer St., was arrested on the two warrants;
5:37 p.m.: larceny, Main Street, a caller from a supermarket reports a man is attempting to return items he did not purchase, the responding officer reports the suspect admitted that he had found a receipt outside the store and then selected items listed and attempted to return them, the store officials elected to issue the man a verbal ‘No trespassing’ order and forgo criminal charges;
6:00 p.m.: compliance checks, community policing officers report they performed alcohol compliance checks throughout the city;
6:46 p.m.: assist citizen, Willows Apartments, 19 Lockhouse Road, an officer reports he assisted to keep the peace as a person collected property at a relative’s residence, the officer reports he facilitated the exchange of the key to the residence and a financial document;
8:48 p.m.: attempted robbery, North Elm Street, a caller reports an attempted robbery occurred about a half hour earlier, the responding officer reports the caller said that a hooded male party wearing sunglasses and bandana across his face entered the store and demanded money, the woman said that the man showed him the handle of a gun stuck in his waistband but fled when she told him he was being recorded on security video, the video will be reviewed;
9:51 p.m.: disturbance, Meadow Street, a caller reports she was assaulted in a Meadow Street bar, the responding officer reports the caller said that another female patron pushed her off a bar stool, no charges were filed;

2:18 a.m.: suspicious person, Western Avenue, a patrol officer reports a person dressed entirely in black with a white face mask stepped into traffic, the officer reports the suspect fled when he stopped but the officer subsequently discovered the costumed person and two other is a nearby wooded area, the masked girl said that they had been “just fooling around scaring cars as they passed”, the officer pointed out the hazards of such activity and the three youths left the area without incident;
12:09 p.m.: larceny, East Main Street, a caller reports his son’s video game system was stolen from his pickup truck while it was parked at an East Main Street parking lot, the responding officer reports the caller said that a window had been left open when the truck was parked and the game was stolen;
3:07 p.m.: burning complaint, Meadow Street, a caller from Casimir Street reports that she can see smoke and ashes are falling on her as she lies on her hammock, the responding fire captain reports he located a resident with an outdoor fire which was extinguished after he was advised of the complaint;
5:31 p.m.: breaking and entering, Southampton Road, a Southampton resident came to the station to report that his vehicle was broken into while parked at his workplace, the responding officer reports the complainant said that after his shift he returned to his unlocked vehicle and found that his backpack had been rifled and medications and computer flash drives had been stolen;
8:30 p.m.: vandalism, Mill Street, a call reports an obscene graffito has been drawn on the roadway, the responding officer report the graffito was executed in some sort of oily fluid, the caller attempted to wash it off the roadway with soapy water;
9:17 p.m.: larceny, Elm Street, a supervisory officer reports a theft of food from a pizza restaurant, the officer reports the community policing officers will follow up on the incident;
10:11 p.m.: parking violation, Montgomery Road, a patrol officer reports he encountered a vehicle parked almost entirely in the roadway with a flat tire, the dispatcher’s attempts to contact the registered owner were unsuccessful, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;

2:17 a.m.: incapacitated person, Elm Street, a patrol officer reports he encountered an incapacitated person in the roadway and placed him in protective custody;
8:18 a.m.: animal complaint, East Mountain Road, a caller reports two horses in the roadway, personnel at a nearby stable were notified and corralled the horses;
8:44 a.m.: animal complaint, State Street, a caller reports finding a ferret, an animal control officer responded and transported the animal to the municipal animal shelter;
10:43 a.m.: animal complaint, Colonial Pine Acres, 50 Southampton Road, a caller reports finding a snake in her rabbit cage, the responding director of animal control operations reports he took custody of the ball python and transported it to the municipal animal shelter;
2:41 p.m.: larceny, Westfield Fairgrounds, 134 Russell Road, a residence came to the station to report that her vehicle was entered while parked at he Westfield Fair and property was stolen, the responding officer reports the complainant said that her unlocked vehicle was entered and medications, several hundred dollars in cash and a camera were stolen from the locked glove compartment, there were no signs of forcible entry to the glove compartment;
3:31 p.m.: traffic complaint, Meadow Street, a caller reports three girls are throwing apples at passing vehicles, the responding officer reports he found three girls and one admitted throwing an apple core, the girls were advised of the potential hazards of such activity;
3:53 p.m.: vandalism, Powder Mill Village, 126 Union St., a caller reports the windshield of her parked vehicle was shattered;
6:51 p.m.: illegal dumping, Pochassic Road, a caller reports illegal dumping on her property, the responding officer reports he found pieces of a furniture item and advised the caller that he would make extra patrols in the area;
7:56 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Main Street, a patrol officer requests a tow for a vehicle with revoked registration which was found to have been operated by an unlicensed operator, criminal complaints were filed and the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
10:10 p.m.: city ordinance violation, a caller reports children are playing at the spray park, the responding officer reports he advised the children that they must leave the park when the lights go out.
