Major crime and incident report

8:07 a.m.: Burglary/breaking and entering, Jeremy Drive. Police received a report of a home that was reportedly entered through a window and items allegedly disturbed. In addition, a 2011 Saab SE 95 was reported missing. Police believe that this was related to another incident nearby, where a previously stolen vehicle was recovered. 9:05 a.m.: Recovered motor vehicle, Jeremy Drive. Police report that a vehicle that was reported stolen out of Connecticut was found. A 2012 GMC Acadia.

10:16 a.m.: Accident, Stanley Park, Western Avenue. Police received a report of a vehicle that struck a tree. No injuries were reported but one tow truck was requested. According to police, the operator had reportedly hit the gas instead of the brake pedal.

11:31 a.m.: Accident, White Street. Police received a report from the DPW that one of their vehicles was reportedly involved in an accident. A 2017 Mack 600 and a 2006 Toyota 4Runner were involved. No injuries reported and no tow trucks requested.

2:53 p.m.: Accident, Russell Road and Berkshire Drive. Police received a report of a tractor-trailer that struck another vehicle, a 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee, while exiting a road. No injuries reported and no tow trucks requested.

3:24 p.m.: Accident, North Road. Police received a report of a minor accident. A 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 2016 Nissan Rogue were involved. No injuries reported and no tow trucks requested.

10:35 p.m.: Accident, Springfield Road. Police received a report of an accident with injuries. A 2005 Hyundai Elantra and a 2005 Hyundai Sonata were involved. One person was transported to Baystate Noble Hospital via Westfield Fire ambulance and personnel. Two tow trucks also requested.

11:19 p.m.: Traffic or motor vehicle complaint and arrest, East Main Street. Police reported that one of the officers, while on scene at an accident, “almost took him out” there, and also allegedly ran a red light. Police reported the vehicle was stopped by police. According to police, the operator, Isidro W. Aguinaga, Jr., 34, of Springfield, allegedly had the odor of alcohol upon his breath. Police reported that he also failed field sobriety tests. Police arrested Aguinaga and charged him with operating under influence of liquor, negligent operation of motor vehicle, red light violation and speeding in violation of special regulation.

11:26 p.m.: Accident, White Street and Main Street. Police received a report of an accident with no injuries. A 2009 Nissan Altima and a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe were involved. No tow truck requested.
