2:54 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street, a patrol officer reports a routine check revealed that the owner of a vehicle seen operating was the subject of an outstanding warrant, the vehicle was stopped and the operator was found to be the owner, Jon L. Renaud, 33, of 126 Carson Ave., Dalton, was arrested on the warrant;
10:03 a.m.: fraud, Franklin Street, a detective reports he was advised that two fraudulent checks were cashed at a Franklin Street check-cashing business, the detective reports a suspect was identified and the case remains under investigation by the financial crimes unit of the Detective Bureau;
10:29 a.m.: vandalism, Aldrich Drive, a resident came to the station to report that a window of his car was smashed overnight, the responding officer reports a rear window was found to be smashed but the instrument which broke the window as not evident, nothing was stolen from the car;
10:42 a.m.: annoying phone calls, Putnam Road, a resident came to the station to complain that her former boyfriend continues to call her and has become a nuisance, the responding officer reports he advised the male party to stop attempting to contact the woman and he agreed to comply;
11:17 a.m.: larceny, Warfield Drive, a resident came to the station to report that he lost his wallet and now money has been removed from his bank account, the responding office reports the wallet was lost on Saturday and the victim found, on Monday, that documents in the wallet had been used to fraudulently remove money from his bank account;
11:30 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Southwick Road, a community policing officer reports he removed advertising flyers from seven utility poles on Southwick Road and contacted the advertised business to advise the manager that it is illegal to post bills on utility poles in the city;
11:51 a.m.: disturbance, Mechanic Street, a caller reports that she was assaulted by her boyfriend’s mother, the responding officer reports the younger woman said that the older woman pushed her against the stairs and choked her, the officer reports a criminal complaint was filed;
3:06 p.m.: larceny, Western Avenue, a Milford resident reports via the online reporting option that his phone was stolen from a Westfield State University shuttle bus, the victim wrote that he inadvertently left his phone on the shuttle and when he returned to seek it he found it gone;
3:24 p.m.: found property, Springfield Road, a resident came to the station to report finding several credit cards at a Springfield Road bus stop, the responding officer reports the owner could not be immediately contact and the cards were stored for safe keeping;
3:29 p.m.: found property, Union Street, a caller reports finding several hypodermic needles in her driveway, the responding officer reports the capped needles which appear to have been discarded from a passing vehicle were collected for proper disposal;
4:16 p.m.: animal complaint, South Maple Street, the animal control officer reports she took custody of a stray female Labrador retriever/pit bull cross dog and transported it to the municipal animal shelter;
4:26 p.m.: fraud, St. James Avenue, a resident came to the station to report he was the victim of fraud, the responding officer reports that the victim had been attempting an online purchase on craigslist.org and was scammed for more than $700, the case was referred to the financial crimes unit of the Detective Bureau;
7:05 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Southampton Road, a patrol officer reports a routine check of a vehicle’s registration revealed that the plates on the car had been issued to another vehicle and the car was stopped, the officer reports that the operator’s license had been revoked as an habitual traffic offender and that the vehicle was found to be unregistered, Christopher E. Bellinger, 26, of 6 Cooper Drive, Chester, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a license suspended as an habitual traffic offender and for operating an unregistered motor vehicle;
7:40 p.m.: breaking and entering, Van Dussen Apartments, 47 Arnold St., a caller reports his apartment was broken into and property was stolen, the responding detective reports that no sign of forcible entry was found but the resident reports that electronic devices, BB guns and other items were stolen.
