12:01 a.m.: suspicious, East Main Street, a caller from an East Main Street restaurant reports that a female party was clearly intoxicated after having drinks in the restaurant and left to go to her car with clear intentions to drive, the responding officer reports that Susetta Salgado, 49, of 520 Skyline Ter., Chester, MA was placed under arrest on an active warrant;
2:18 a.m.: accident, Springfield Road, multiple callers report that a motor vehicle may have struck a pole and taken out power to some households, the responding officer reports that one tow truck was requested to remove the vehicle from the scene, the officer reports that Westfield Gas and Electric responded to address the damaged pole, dispatch reports that an ambulance was sent to the scene to check the vehicle operator as a precaution;
7:37 a.m.: animal complaint, Sander Road, a caller reports that there is a deceased siamese hymalayan type cat in the roadway with a collar on, the responding animal control officer reports that she transported the cat’s remains to the Westfield Regional Animal Shelter;
12:55 p.m.: Holyoke Road, traffic or motor vehicle complaint, a caller reports that a dump truck spilled a bunch of rocks into the road, the responding officer reports that the Department of Public Works said that they do not have the means to remove the rocks from the road, the officer reports that a private company responded to remove the rocks from the roadway;
3:43 p.m.: animal complaint, Jeremy Drive, a male party reports that he brought a brown tabby cat to the Westfield Regional Animal Shelter after the cat had been frequently visiting his property;
4:02 p.m.: animal complaint, Pontoosic Road, a caller reports that she found a loose basset hound type dog in the area of Pontoosic Road, the responding Animal Control Officer reports that the call brought the dog to the Westfield Regional Animal Shelter;
7:04 p.m.: hit and run accident, Court Street, a caller reports that her vehicle was struck by another vehicle in a Court Street parking lot, the responding officer reports that he pulled over the suspected vehicle, the officer reports that Fredrick La Hay, 67, of 188 County Road, Southampton, was placed under arrest for a second offense of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol while his license is suspended, and leaving the scene of property damage.
