1:42 a.m.: accident, Union Street, a caller reports that he drove by a single motor vehicle accident in which the vehicle struck a guardrail, the caller reports that the female operator was out of the vehicle and did not appear injured, the responding officer reports that a tow truck was requested to remove the vehicle from the scene;

8:10 a.m.: accident, Court Street, a detail officer reports a single motor vehicle accident on Court Street, the officer reports that he requested an ambulance because one of the vehicle’s occupants possibly suffered a head injury, the responding ambulance reports that one person was transported to Baystate Noble Hospital, the officer reports that one tow truck was requested to remove the vehicle from the scene;

11:08 a.m.: weather complaint, Pontoosic Road, a caller reports that there is a tree that fell down and is blocking the entire roadway, the responding officer reports that the Department of Public Works responded and removed the tree from the road;

3:04 p.m.: accident, Pleasant Street, a patrol officer reports that his cruiser was just struck from behind with no injuries as a result, the responding officer filed an incident report;

4:26 p.m.: animal complaint, Mechanic Street, a caller reports that she found a loose chihuahua running around Mechanic Street with no collar or tags, the caller reports that she posted images of the dog on social media to help find its owner, dispatch reports that the dog was brought to the Westfield Police headquarters where it was placed in a kennel with food and water;

 

5:03 p.m.: burglary/breaking and entering, Montgomery Street, a male party reports that somebody broke into his apartment and covered his security camera, the responding officer filed an incident report;

 

7:27 p.m.: accident, Pontoosic Road, multiple callers report that a vehicle struck a mailbox causing airbag deployment, at least one caller reports that the vehicle’s operator may be intoxicated, the responding officer reports that a tow truck was requested to remove the vehicle from the scene, the responding ambulance reports that one person refused medical attention;

10:45 p.m.: fireworks, Meadow Street, multiple callers report that they heard popping sounds that could either be gunshots or fireworks, the responding officer reports that he did not observe or hear any evidence of fireworks being set off in the area.
