WESTFIELD

12:26 p.m.: shoplifting, Springfield Road, a caller from a Springfield Road department store reports that a male party attempted to shoplift items by scanning cheap items at the self checkout but not scanning the more expensive items, the caller reports that the male party was approached by an employee at the door before he left the cart of items and went out to his car, the responding officer reports that the male party was trespassed from the store;

3:10 p.m.: disturbance, Main Street, a caller from a Main Street fast food restaurant reports that a male party was kicked out of the store for refusing to wear a face mask and began yelling at customers in the drive-thru line, the responding officer reports that the male party was asked to leave the area and given a face mask to wear;

11:08 p.m.: disturbance, Russell Road, a caller reports that a male party is walking and dumping people’s trash cans into the roadway, the responding officer reports that the male party was located and was strongly urged to continue walking without further incident.

SOUTHWICK

1:04 a.m.: suspicious vehicle, College Highway, a running vehicle was parked in front of a business, an officer reports the driver was sleeping and all in order;

7:16 a.m.: fire, College Highway, a motorist reports smoke rising from a pile of wood or debris by The Greens, the Southwick Fire Department reports the fire was extinguished;

5:47 p.m.: officer wanted, Point Grove Road, a caller reports concern that patrons at a restaurant exceeded current COVID guidelines, the responding officer reports the parking lot was full and he spoke with the owners who said they were monitoring capacity and believe the complaint came from a man who was refused his request for breadsticks and nine shots of alcohol.
