9:57 a.m.: accident, Mill Street, multiple callers report a two motor vehicle accident with airbag deployment, the responding officer reports that two tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles from the scene, the responding ambulance reports that two parties refused medical attention;
10:21 a.m.: notification, State Street, a Community Service Officer reports that he spoke with the leadership of a State Street church about the 25 percent capacity restrictions, wearing of masks, and social distancing that are in place due to COVID-19, the officer reports that he had similar conversations throughout the day with the leadership at places of worship on Main Street, Broad Street, Court Street, Western Avenue, Dartmouth Street, Holyoke Road, Montgomery Road, Southwick Road, Ponders Hollow Road, North Road, and Bartlett Street.
12:42 p.m.: animal complaint, Palma Place, an animal control officer reports that she and her fellow ACO were able to capture a loose dog with short brindle hair that had been loose in the area for at least several days, the officer reports that she brought the dog back to the Westfield Regional Animal Shelter;
12:48 p.m.: animal complaint, Notre Dame Street, a caller reports that she was able to humanely capture a calico cat that had been loose near her residence, the responding animal control officer reports that the cat was brought to the Westfield Regional Animal Shelter;
8:29 p.m.: accident, Union Street, a caller reports that she was involved in a two motor vehicle accident in which the other vehicle’s driver-side airbag may have been deployed, the responding ambulance reports that there are fluids on the ground, the responding officer reports that two tow trucks were requested to remove both vehicles from the scene, the officer reports that one party was transported via ambulance to Baystate Noble Hospital.
2:05 p.m.: assist citizen, police station, a passerby found a 16-year-old male outside the station with his bicycle in 22-degree weather; the youth said he was traveling to his grandmother’s house in Agawam and was transported home;
11:03 a.m.: officer wanted, Jeffrey Circle, a resident complained that his neighbor’s dumpster is picked up at 6 a.m., a responding officer advised the complainant to contact the removal contractor;
1:52 p.m.: officer wanted, Police station, a citizen requested a second call regarding harassing calls and texts and he is considering changing his number, the subject was advised that was a good idea;
6:09 p.m.: gathering, College Highway parking lot, two-three youths on bikes were reported, a responding officer reports the youths had permission to be there and advised them to find a safer location.
