Major crime and incident report

12:23 a.m.: electrical hazard, Robinson Drive, a caller reports a tree caught fire after it had been leaning on wires, the responding officer reports that he is closing the roadway until Westfield Gas & Electric can respond to clear the road, the responding firefighters report that the fire was extinguished and the wires were cleared by WG&E;

3:51 p.m.: animal complaint, Fowler Avenue, a caller reports that her neighbor’s husky is running loose, the responding animal control officer reports that an area search turned up negative for the dog;

8:54 p.m.: vandalism/damage, North Road, a caller reports that there were knife holes in two of his vehicle’s tires when he got off work at a North Road restaurant, dispatch reports that police had responded to the location earlier in the day for a terminated employee who refused to leave, the responding officer reports that another vehicle had all four of its tires slashed, the officer completed an incident report.



12:08 a.m.: gas smell, Meadow Lane, a homeowner reports the smell of propane in the house; responding firefighters shut off the gas and test the air, no propane found; homeowner advised to call a technician in the morning;

11:48 a.m.: speeding, Feeding Hills Road, a resident complained of vehicles traveling over the speed limit eastbound from College Highway; shift commander advised;

3:26 p.m.: officer wanted, Granville Road, no reason given; police and EMS respond, finding a dispute between a property owner and dirtbike rider; dirtbike rider departed onto Hastings Road; search for dirtbike rider turns up negative;

11:56 p.m.: accident with personal injury, College Highway;  ambulance transported one person to emergency room at Baystate Noble Hospital.
