WESTFIELD
8:08 a.m.: vandalism, Maple Terrace, a caller reports that a youth was in his backyard damaging his marijuana plants, the caller reports that this has been an ongoing issue and that he now believes he knows who the youth is, the responding officer reports that he observed some broken stems on the plants but that it was difficult to determine was damage was done the previous night and what damage had occurred before previous calls;
12:16 p.m.: animal complaint, Apremont Way, a male party brought a small orange cat to the Westfield Animal Shelter that he had been trying to trap for over a month, the party reports that he is interested in adopting the cat after the stray hold period is over;
9:33 p.m.: warrant service, Parker Avenue, officers report that they will be serving a probation warrant at a Montgomery Street residence, the officers report that Isac R. Hernandez, 27, of 14 Parker Ave. was arrested on an active warrant;
10:07 p.m.: noise complaint, Western Avenue, a caller reports that her neighbors have a band playing in their garage at late hours and it is disturbing her peace, the responding officer reports that the residents confirmed a “Van Halen” tribute had taken place prior to his arrival, the officer reports that the residents were advised of city ordinances surrounding noise complaints and they agreed to refrain from using band equipment late at night.
SOUTHWICK
10:11 a.m.: accident, College Highway, a caller stated she was pulling into the post office when her vehicle was struck from behind, the operator of that vehicle left the scene;
10:50 a.m.: officer wanted, Depot Street, unemployment fraud reported;
11:29 a.m.: suspicious vehicle, Third Street, a suspicious vehicle was reported in the neighborhood, a responding officer reports a resident conducting plumbing work;
5:26 p.m.: alarm, Nicholson Hill Road, a resident’s smoke alarm was sounding after a cooking mishap;
8:56 p.m.: missing child, Point Grove Road, an 11 year-old female was reported missing and located in Suffield and returned home;
11:52 p.m.: animal complaint, North Lomis Street; a resident complained of a barking dog.
