10:05 a.m.: Motor vehicle violation and arrest, Western Avenue and Dickinson Place. Police stopped and arrested Lamitchell D. Johnson, 22, of Springfield, after police reported that he allegedly did not stop for an officer who was directing traffic during construction. Police reported that Johnson, when asked to stop and back up his car, reportedly kept inching closer and closer to the officer while driving the car. Police charged Johnson with failure to stop for police and assault with a dangerous weapon (to wit: motor vehicle).
10:49 a.m.: Vandalism, walk-in. Police received a report of a storefront on Elm Street who reportedly had the glass of their front door kicked and broken. No entry made and no robbery reported.
10:50 a.m.: Larceny, walk-in. Police received a report that a jacket of someone was stolen on Elm Street, and inside the jacket was a wallet, along with a small amount of money and credit cards. Police are investigating.
2:20 p.m.: Larceny, walk-in. Police received a report of inappropriate charges made on a credit card. The suspected larceny is believed to be a part of a larger group of compromised cards that were used at swimoutlet.com.
3:25 p.m.: Accident, Union Street and Springdale Road. Police received a report of a two-vehicle crash involving a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica and a 2001 Subaru Forester. Police reported no injuries but one tow truck was needed for one of the vehicles.
