5:59 a.m.: accident, 136 Meadow St. At 4 Fowler St., street sign taken out by a hit and run driver, DPW contacted;
10:23 a.m.: breaking and entering motor vehicle, Baystate Noble Hospital Emergency room, Court St., a 1997 Jeep Wrangler was broken into, police interviewed possible suspect;
11:14 a.m.: suspicious, Broadway, woman reported that someone attempted to break into her home, lock was jimmied, no entry made;
12:48 p.m.: larceny, Walmart, 141 Springfield Road, a detective from the Easton Police Department reported that Bourne’s Auto Center was the victim of a counterfeit payroll check scheme, five counterfeit payroll checks totaling $3,500 were cashed at the Westfield Walmart;
1:38 p.m.: shoplifting, Home Depot, 514 E. Main St., caller reported seeing a man leave Home Depot with four rolls of vinyl siding, place them in his Volkswagen Passat and head toward West Springfield, caller gave police license plate number, West Springfield police were notified, manager of Westfield Home Depot notified West Springfield Home Depot in case suspect(s) try to return the items at their store;
3:41 p.m.: larceny, Payless Shoes, 451 E. Main St., employee reported seeing two men enter the store and one concealed two pairs of shoes underneath his jacket, the two fled in a black Nissan Altima, the suspect who concealed the shoes is described as a Hispanic man , 40-45 years of age, 5’9″ with some teeth missing, wearing a brown jacket and dark baggy denim pants;
4:19 p.m.: warrant service, 12 Franklin St., Charity M. Roberts, 33, of 12 Franklin St., arrested on an outstanding warrant;
4:55 p.m.: fraud, Quality Inn, 2 Southampton Road, caller reported receiving a call from someone claiming to be from the IRS demanding money, a money gram for $700 was sent.
