7:33 a.m.: Arrest, Chestnut St., Springfield. Police went and apprehended John C. Green, 25, of Springfield, on a warrant related to a prior home invasion that happened in Westfield.
11:51 a.m.: Burglary, Sherman Street. Police received a report of a breaking and entering that happened an unknown time ago. Police were told that property was stolen that totaled $2,000 from a shed of a residence. The side door of the shed was damaged, which is how police assumed the thief made entry. No arrests were made at the time of the report.
12:44 p.m.: Fraud, Southampton Road. Police received a call from the Police National Credit Union in Chicopee, that a customer came in and withdrew $1,200 under suspicious circumstances. According to police, when the woman who withdrew the money was contacted she told police that she thought she was helping her son who was stuck in Bahrain and that she had to send the money to a third party called “Money Mule.” Police informed woman that it was a scam.
2:54 p.m.: Shoplifting, Radio Shack, East Main Street. Police received a report from the manager at Radio Shack of a male who allegedly shoplifted approximately $200 worth of merchandise. The manager also insinuated that the thief had an accomplice who came in after him, but that they left together. Police were given a description and a direction of travel, but no arrests were made at the time of the report.
4:16 p.m.: Larceny, Vernon Street. Police received a report of a bicycle that was stolen from a residence. No additional information available.
5:21 p.m.: Motor vehicle accident, Hampton Ponds Plaza. Police received a report of a two-car accident involving a 1997 Volvo SE 850 and a 2015 Jeep Compass, called in by multiple callers. There were no injuries noted and no tow.
