Major crime and incident report
Thursday, July 9, 2015
3:31 a.m.: burglar alarm, Westfield Mobil, 162 Southampton Road, front door smashed, cash register emptied, safe stolen, suspect seen on surveillance video described as white male, approximately 6 foot tall, 250 pounds, wearing a blue polo shirt, black shorts and white shoes; see fully story in Friday’s Westfield News;
11:48 a.m.: walk-in fraud, victim reported someone opened a Verizon phone line using his account;
12:03 p.m.: structure fire, 227 Pochassic Road, thick black smoke in area, barn reported as completely down when Westfield firefighters arrived on scene; Barnes Air Force Base firefighters assisted with tanker; Westfield Gas & Electric cut wires to barn; firefighters remained on scene until 4 p.m.; see fully story in Friday’s Westfield News;
1:57 p.m.: arrest, Noble Hospital, Gina M. Glynn, 37, of 500 Essex St., Apt. 16, Lynn, arrested on three outstanding warrants;
4:48 p.m.: accident, two cars involved, no injuries, one vehicle towed from scene;
9:23 p.m.: fraud, Walmart, customer changed receipt and demanded higher amount to be refunded, was compensated; charges filed via criminal complaint;
9:46 p.m.: officer wanted, 29 Rita Mary Way, caller stating his brother had shot his mother; police found four residents alive and well, swept house, no further services required; see Saturday’s Westfield News for full story.
