11:31 a.m.: Motor vehicle accident, Union Street. Police received a report of a two-car accident involving a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu and 2010 Kia Sedona. There were no reports of injuries or airbag deployment, but once the vehicles were moved into a parking lot fluids began leaking out of one of the vehicles, so police requested a tow truck for the vehicle.
12:30 p.m.: Shoplifting, 57 Main St., Stop and Shop. Police were called to Stop and Shop by loss prevention, who had a possible shoplifter in their custody. According to police, Avimael Martinez, 21, of Springfield, was arrested after being charged with attempting to shoplift $40 worth of food items by concealing them in his backpack.
2:48 p.m.: Larceny, Main Street. According to police, a person called to report that items of his were stolen from a shopping cart the day prior. The items missing included a phone charger and paperwork for a local cell phone company. No arrests or suspects at the time of the report.
