Major crime and incident report

1:53 a.m.: Incapacitated person, Main Street. Westfield Police found a man who stumbled into the road, then fell and eventually pass out while on the ground. Police approached him and he awoke, but police reported that he seemed very intoxicated. Police requested an ambulance for the man and he was transported to Baystate Noble Hospital.

7:21 a.m.: Motor vehicle accident, hit and run, Notre Dame Street. Police received a call regarding an accident on Notre Dame Street that involved a Westfield Public Works vehicle. A truck struck the public works vehicle and fled the scene, only able to get a partial license plate number. Police had no arrests at the time of the report.

9:29 a.m.: Possible larceny, East Main Street. According to police, a local business reported two pieces of equipment missing from their establishment. The two pieces were valued at $1,000 each. The police reported that they had a suspect but no arrests were made.

2:59 p.m.: Motor vehicle accident, Springdale and Holyoke Road intersection. A 2003 Jaguar SE X-Type 25 and a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder collided at the intersection which caused airbag deployment and significant damage to both cars. Initially there were no reports of any injuries. However, police eventually requested an ambulance for an injured party, who was transported to Baystate Noble Hospital. Both vehicles were also towed.

3:01 p.m.: Motor vehicle accident, Park Square. An off-duty officer reported that a white tractor trailer was driving through the rotary and possibly hit two or more ballards. The police requested Department of Public Works to replace the broken ballards and police were able to find the tractor trailer.

7:36 p.m.: Breaking and entering into a motor vehicle. Old Apremont Way. Police reported that a vehicle was broken into in the area by way of smashing a window. It was reported that the victim’s girlfriend’s bag was stolen from the vehicle. The alleged victim saw a man running away from the vehicle with his girlfriend’s bag and getting into a gold Kia.

11:34 p.m.: Possible larceny, Union Street. A resident reported that her neighbors entered her backyard earlier in the evening and took some belongings, including grill cleaner, grill tools and lawn furniture. Police did not make any arrests at the time of the report.
