12:44 a.m.: motor vehicle accident, area of 31 Pochassic Road, multiple callers reporting accident and fire, officer reports subject, identified as Scott D. Dana Jr., 32, of 73-A Worthington Road, Huntington operating a 2002 Ford Explorer eastbound at a high rate of speed when he lost control and struck a utility pole, knocking down the pole and wires, officers and ambulance dispatched, motorist did not require transport, officer requesting a Westfield Gas & Electric crew to repair damage and two officer to provide traffic control during replacement of utility pole, vehicle towed from scene.
7:40 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Notre Dame Street, officer reports stopping a motor vehicle with an expired registration sticker, citation issued, vehicle towed;
10:26 a.m.: missing person, citizen came to station to report 16-year-old daughter is missing, investigation indicated that girl was in Springfield (girl had not been located as of Friday, March 8) girl’s information entered into missing person database;
10:43 a.m.: unwanted guest, Burger King Restaurant, 71 Main St., manager reports female found sleeping in restroom, officer reports requesting an ambulance to transport female to Noble Hospital, female is homeless and only wearing hospital garb after being released from hospital earlier in the morning, female refused transport, officer transported female to Goodwill shop to get proper clothing then to the Samaritan Inn;
12:04 p.m,.: identity fraud, 79 Franklin St., citizen came to station to report that his identity was used to open a bank account, subject was contacted by Internal Revenue Service regarding taxes owed on the interest from that account, information taken;
12:37 p.m.: breaking and entering, larceny, North Elm Street, caller reports residence entered and jewelry taken, officer reports pane of rear door window shattered to gain entry, referred to the detective bureau;
1:12 p.m.: arrest, Samaritan Inn, 7 Free St., detective reports subject of a court warrant located, Athenea Dacosta, 27, of 5 Madison Ave., taken into custody;
2:55 p.m.: vandalism, Russellville Road, citizen came to report that mailbox was damaged, an M-80 was exploded inside the mailbox;
3:23 p.m.: suspicious activity, Berkshire Bank, 31 Court St., manager reports two subjects, a male and female, both with their faces concealed by clothing and large sunglasses attempted to cash a check, teller requested female to remove scarf wrapped around her face, female then attempted to conceal her face with her hands, teller declined to cash check, case referred to the Detective Bureau for further investigation;
6:04 p.m.: structure fire, 40 Susan Drive, dual response, officers and fire engines 3 and 4, platform truck, ambulance dispatched, ember from fireplace ignited carpet in living room, carpet and wall damaged, firefighters extinguished the fire and vented the residence, fire apparatus cleared scene at 7:11 p.m.:
7:12 p.m.: disturbance, George Street, caller reported intoxicated female is being belligerent and threaten other people present in the residence, officer reports 56-year-old female placed into protective custody.

7:57 a.m.: motor vehicle accident with injuries, Clay Hill section of North Elm Street at intersection of Lockhouse Road, dual response of police and fire, officer reports motor vehicle stopped in left lane to make left turn onto Lockhouse Road when a four-vehicle rear-end chain reaction collision occurred, two motorists complained of pain, both signed refusal slips, officer requesting ambulance to return to scene, subject with a head injury transported to Noble Hospital;
9:09 a.m.: motor vehicle accident with injuries, Southampton Road at intersection of Egleston Road, vehicle stopped in northbound lane to make left turn was struck by following vehicle, operator of the stopped vehicle was transported to Noble Hospital, operator of second vehicle and two-year-old child were transported to the Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, both vehicles towed from scene;
4:15 p.m.: city ordinance violation, Franklin Street, officer reports observing a male subject in the parking lot of a business drinking from an open beer container, subject consumed the final content of the container while standing on the city’s sidewalk, officer spoke with the subject who exhibited a very poor attitude, subject issued citation;
4:27 p.m.: motor vehicle accident with injury, East Main Street at the intersection of Noble Street, multiple callers reporting accident, dual response, officer reports westbound motorist attempted to make a left turn onto Noble Street and entered the path of a eastbound vehicle, eastbound motorist transported to Noble Hospital;
7:52 p.m.: vandalism, Otis Street, caller reports three tires of motor vehicle slashed, officer reports incident remains under investigation;
8:19 p.m.: disturbance, arrest, area of 74 Mechanic St., caller reports fight in progress, officer reports observing a male chasing a second male with visible sign of injury, victim stated he was assaulted by two males, officer reports Isac Robert Hernandez, 20, of 10 Franklin Street charged with disorderly conduct and assault and battery, a criminal complaint was issued for second male involved in the assault who had left the scene, Hernandez, who was highly intoxicated, was later transported by ambulance to Noble Hospital for treatment.

3:28 a.m.: vandalism, Bates Road, patrol officer reports observing a damaged mailbox, residents saw patrol vehicle and called the station asking about the officer’s presence in front of their house, residents were informed that the officer had seen that their mailbox was damaged and residents said they believe the mailbox was knocked down by a plow during the last snowstorm;
10:34 a.m.: motor vehicle accident, East Silver Street, caller reports tractor-trailer truck struck overpass and is stuck, officer requesting heavy tow truck, vehicle towed to police impound yard;
12:42 p.m.: violation of a 209-A protective order, 126 Union Street, caller reports she is receiving threatening calls from a male who is the subject of a no-contact condition of the court abuse order, officer reports complaint filed with the court;
1:44 p.m.: identity fraud, Sibley Way, citizen came to station to report that her identity was used to open an account with the Target store chain, citizen reports that she was contacted by a collection agency which informed her that the account was opened in 2003 and payments made until 2005 and that the account now has a balance of $785, officer reports information taken;
2:25 p.m.: officer wanted, Elm Street, caller reports that property stolen from her is now at an Elm Street business, officer reports meeting the caller at the business and confiscating the stolen property, detective bureau requested the officer to do a supplement report on the incident.
