9:01 a.m.: Vandalism, 69 Franklin St., Mi Ranchito Restaurant. An employee arrived at the restaurant to find that the front door was broken, but that no entry was made. Police suspect vandalism based on what was at the scene. No arrests made.

12:13 p.m.: Assault, walk-in at the police station. Alleged victim walked into the police station and reported that he was assaulted in a parking lot of a local bar several days prior. Medical attention was required. The alleged victim does not recall who may have assaulted them. Incident remains under investigation.

3:04 p.m.: Accident, Westminster St. and Dartmouth St. intersection. A 2007 Honda CRV and a 2003 Toyota Sequoia were involved in an accident at the intersection, after one vehicle failed to yield. Both vehicles were towed and one person was transported to Baystate Noble Hospital with injuries.

3:38 p.m.: Assault with a dangerous weapon, Elm St. Kyle Schott, 21, of 40 Mt. Laurel St., Russell, was arrested on two charges of assault with a dangerous weapon after he brandished a handgun at two people. He brandished the weapon when the vehicle he was traveling in pulled up to the vehicle occupied by the two alleged victims and pointed the weapon at them and was alleged to have made verbal threats. Police later found Schott and questioned him, where he admitted to making the threat but not pointing a weapon. Police searched the vehicle he was in and found a “realistic looking” BB gun with no safety markings.
