9:43 a.m.: accident, East Mountain Road at Springfield Road, a caller reports a box truck is wedged under the railroad overpass, the responding officer reported the truck was extricated and towed from the scene of the accident;
12:27 p.m.: fire, North West Road, a caller reports a fallen tree took down electrical wires which are arcing, dual response dispatched, the responding firefighters report the arcing wires ignited a shed causing damage to fencing materials, the fallen tree damaged the rain gutter and the edge of the roof of a residence, the fire was extinguished;
12:52 p.m.: larceny, Springfield Road, a caller from a Springfield Road department store described a vehicle that persons believed to have been shoplifting had left in, the dispatcher reports that the suspect vehicle did not have a valid inspection sticker, the vehicle was found and stopped, the occupants were served with a ‘No trespassing’ order and a citation was issued;
1:30 p.m.: lost property, East Main Street, a resident came to the station to report that she lost her phone at an East Main Street gas station;
3:20 p.m.: larceny, East Silver Street, a caller reports jewelry was stolen from her home safe, the responding officer reports that the victim said that she suspects family members may be responsible for the theft;
6:15 p.m.: assist other police department, Mechanic Street, Springfield police request assistance apprehending a person charged with violation of a restraining order, the responding officer reports the suspect was located, Ernest Meade Wiggins, 37, of 160 Collins St., Apt. A2, Hartford, Conn., was arrested for violation of a restraining order and subsequently released to Springfield police custody;
8:24 p.m.: disturbance, Grand Street, a caller reports a disturbance outside his home, the responding officer reports two male parties involved in a verbal dispute were sent on their separate ways;
8:36 p.m.: disturbance, Meadow Street, a caller reports that the defendant of a protective order has been outside her home screaming for “a coupe of hours” and is probably intoxicated, the responding officer reports the man was found nearby, Rickey Alan Williams, 62, of 35 Meadow St., Apt. A, was arrested for violation of a protective order.
