WESTFIELD

1:39 p.m.: animal complaint, Bush Street, multiple callers report that there are two large dogs loose in the area, one black and one brindle with no collars, the responding animal control officer reports that the dogs were brought back to their yard and they appeared to have escaped via a broken gate;

5:33 p.m.: traffic complaint, Meadow Street, multiple callers report a group of about a dozen youths are riding bicycles recklessly in the middle of the road and causing a traffic hazard, the responding officer reports that an area search turned up negative;

7:26 p.m.: animal complaint, Montgomery Street, a caller reports that a cat was struck by a vehicle and was still alive, the responding animal control officer reports that the cat was transported to the New England Veterinary Center and Cancer Care in Windsor, Conn., where it was ultimately humanely euthanized.
