WESTFIELD

6:53 a.m.: officer wanted, Sylvan Drive, a caller reports that a male party on a bicycle is going through people’s trash and leaving garbage on the ground, the responding officer reports that an area search turned up negative;

9:04 a.m.: accident, North Elm Street, a caller reports an accident between a tractor trailer and a passenger vehicle with possible injuries, the responding ambulance reports that one person refused medical attention, the responding officer filed a crash report;

12:21 p.m.: disturbance, Gladwin Drive, a caller reports that he is a private investigator in the area and a resident came out of their house and vandalized his vehicle, a second caller reports that his neighbor had begun accosting the caller and let air out of his vehicle’s tires, the responding officer reports that the caller and male party who accosted him were separated, the officer reports that the male party was informed of plain view laws and that the caller was not breaking the law;

1:44 p.m.: vandalism/damage, Franklin Street, a caller from a Franklin Street store reports that a male party became upset at a store policy and threw a bottle of soda at the window and broke it before fleeing in a vehicle, the responding officer reports that an area search turned up negative;

8:07 p.m.: shoplifting, Franklin Street, a caller from a male street store reports that a male party stole a product and ran across the street after arguing with a manager, the responding officer reports that Michael S. Grabowiec, 35, of 2 Fowler Ave., Westfield was placed under arrest for shoplifting by concealing merchandise.

SOUTHWICK

11 a.m.: officer wanted, Hillcrest Road, a resident wants to speak to an officer regarding “unknowns” going through his car during the night. The resident reported someone had gone through the glove compartment but nothing was missing and the door was unlocked;

1:28 p.m.: officer wanted, Depot Street, a caller reports a former roommate is using her daughter’s EBT card without permission;

1:28 p.m.: fire, College Highway, Southwick Fire responded to a report of an illegal burn, a small contained fire was discovered and extinguished;

10:44 p.m.: suspicious vehicle, College Highway, a vehicle was parked in front of a business after hours with its lights on, an officer reports the driver is a student who was driving home and was tired so she pulled over to sleep.
