Westfield

8:02 a.m.: school investigation, Smith Avenue, two incident reports completed;

2:05 p.m.: vandalism, East Silver Street, a caller reports a BB-sized hole in a window that was not present the day before, the resident of the unit did not hear anything, report taken;

3:57 p.m.: downed utility lines, Laro Road, a caller reports that a passing tractor-trailer ripped down low-hanging telephone and cable lines, the caller says he tried to signal the truck to stop but it continued to Southwick, crew from Westfield Gas & Electric dispatched to repair the damage.

 

Southwick

9:01 a.m.: officer wanted, Powder Mill Road, police were asked to stand by for a possible response to a student with behavior issues at Powder Mill School, no service required;

11:34 a.m.: motor vehicle complaint, Evergreen Street, a caller reports a vehicle striking the guardrail multiple times while driving in the Congamond Lakes area, the responding officer found a medical concern, Southwick EMS transported a patient to Baystate Noble Hospital, police were unable to find damage to road guardrails.

11:35 a.m.: officer wanted, Powder Mill Road, police again asked to stand by for response to Powder Mill School, no service required;

1:16 p.m.: animal complaint, College Highway, caller reports two dogs running loose, animal control officer located the owner and gave a verbal warning;

2:12 p.m.: fraud, Hudson Drive, a business reports that an employee may be issuing fraudulent checks, police advise that the matter would have to be investigated in the town where the employee lives, or where the bank uncovered the fraud.
