8:34 a.m.: animal complaint, Jaeger Drive, a caller reports that she humanely trapped a mother cat and is trying to catch her six kittens in the woods, the responding animal control officer reports that the cat and six kittens were brought to the Westfield Regional Animal Shelter;
9:22 a.m.: animal complaint, North Road, a caller reports that he has a loose black lab-type dog in Hampton Ponds State Park, the responding animal control officer reports that the dog was transported to the Westfield Regional Animal Shelter;
7:56 p.m.: arrest, Massachusetts Turnpike, dispatch reports that Westfield police officers will take custody of two prisoners from the State Police barracks and bring them to Westfield Police Headquarters, the officers report that Edgardo Paris, 34, of 545 Main St., Springfield, was placed under arrest for two counts of carrying a firearm without a proper license, possession of ammunition without a firearms identification card, and two counts of improper storage of a firearm, the officers report that Pedro Juan Cruz, 41, of 214 Spear Road, Springfield, was placed under arrest for two counts of carrying a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without an FID card, two counts of improper storage of a firearm, and operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended license;
9:57 p.m.: structure fire, Lowell Avenue, a caller reports a fire in their circuit breaker in their basement, the responding firefighters report that the fire was extinguished before their arrival and that they would ventilate the house.
No major incidents were reported in Southwick on this date.
