2:31 a.m..: Shoplifting, Walmart Springfield Road. Police received a report of a suspect who reportedly stole nine video games and a video game controller and was stopped by Walmart security. Police arrived and a criminal complaint was filed but no arrest was made.
3:42 a.m.: Motor vehicle violation and arrest, Walmart Springfield Road. Police had originally pulled over a car operated by Jonathan W. Acevedo-Smith, 29, of Westfield, after they reported that he was speeding. Upon inputting his information it was found that he also had a warrant out for his arrest. Acevedo-Smith was arrested on that warrant.
9:48 p.m.: Motor vehicle violation and arrest, Elm Street and Main Street. Police originally stopped a vehicle operated by Michael D. Lowe, 31, of Westfield, after they noted that the vehicle he was operating had an expired sticker. Upon running Lowe’s information police found that he also had a warrant out for his arrest. He was arrested on that warrant.
11:48 p.m.: Accident, Montgomery Road. Police received a report of a one-vehicle rollover accident on Montgomery Road. Police and Westfield Fire responded to the scene. According to police, the driver, who was the sole occupant, was already out of the vehicle when the accident happened and had left the scene. No arrests were made but the operator was reportedly found and cited.
