Major crime and incident report

9:18 a.m.: Accident, Yale Street. Police received a report of a Department of Public Works vehicle that lost a wheel and damaged another vehicle. No injuries were reported and damage was minor.

12:45 p.m.: Vandalism, United Church of Christ Second Congregational, Western Avenue. Police received a report of minor vandalism caused to the church, including a light that was broken on the outside sign. The caller initially did not want to report the vandalism because it was minor. No suspects or arrests.

2:03 p.m.: Accident, Elm Street and Court Street. Police received a report of a two-vehicle accident involving a 2007 Ford Focus and a 2006 International truck. The driver of the Focus had stopped at the intersection and was rear-ended by the truck. No injuries or tows were needed.

2:27 p.m.: Larceny, CVS East Main Street. Police received a report of a male who allegedly stole an unknown amount of Rogaine from the store. Police received a description of the male, as well as his vehicle, and eventually stopped the vehicle. Police arrested Stephen C. Pease, 31, of Holyoke, and charged him with larceny over $250.

6:27 p.m.: Accident and arrest, Western Avenue and Northwest Road. Police received a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a guardrail. Once police arrived, police believed that alcohol may have been involved. Police reported that the driver failed field sobriety tests. Police arrests Philip J. Johnson, 25, and charged him with operating under the influence of liquor–second offense, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and failure to keep right for oncoming motor vehicle.

8:51 p.m.: Motor vehicle violation and arrest, Southampton Road and Hopkins Road. Police stopped a vehicle operated by Gabrilelle A. Nardacci, 24, of Westfield, due to an expired license plate. Upon processing Nardacci’s information, police also found that she had three outstanding warrants out for her arrest. Upon arrest, it was also found that she had a class A substance on her person, according to police. Police charged Nardacci with three arrest warrants and possession of a class A substance.
