Major crime and incident report

8:01 a.m.: Accident, East Mountain Road and Springfield Road. Police received a report of a possible hit-and-run accident involving a 2012 Volkswagen Golf and 2008 Chevrolet Aveo. Upon investigating, police found that the car that left the scene merely went to their driveway nearby and reportedly was not attempting to evade police. Police were able to speak with all parties and no injuries were reported.
10:06 a.m.: Larceny, Big Y, East Main Street. Police received a report from Big Y that several items between Sept. 17 and Sept. 19 were stolen from the store, including Rogaine, teeth whitening strips and razors. Police made no arrests at the time of the report.
1:29 p.m.: Accident, Walmart, Springfield Road. Police received a report from several callers that a vehicle had struck Walmart. The accident actually involved two vehicles, a 2008 Subaru Forester and a 2009 Hyundai Sonata. the Forester struck the Sonata and then the building. Both vehicles were towed from the scene and one person was transported to Baystate Noble Hospital for injuries, by Westfield Fire paramedics.
2:58 p.m.: Accident, 78 Main Street. Police received a report of a two-car accident involving a 2007 Audi A4 and a 2006 Chrysler 300. There were initially no reports of injuries, but eventually one person was treated by Westfield Fire paramedics and transported to Baystate Noble Hospital. Both vehicles also required towing.
