Major crime and incident report
Friday, October 23, 2015
12:22 a.m.:
disturbance, Westfield Bank Operations Department, 105 Elm St., fight between one man and three other men, victim received bloody nose and contusions, one of the men, Andrew Lemieux, of 421 N. Westfield St., charged with misdemeanor assault and battery via criminal complaint;
1:32 a.m.: larceny, Ely Street, resident reported he had tools stolen from him;
11:03 a.m.: accident, empty store fronts, 336 Elm St., 2003 KW and 2014 Volkswagen, no injuries, no tows;
12:04 p.m.: larceny, Woodmont St., party reports her iPad was stolen and was deposited in kiosk at Walmart, store requires a police report to return the iPad;
1:14 p.m.: found property, Stop & Shop Supermarket, 57 Main St., a woman found a wallet in the store’s parking lot;
2:49 p.m.: smell of gas, Tung Shing Dragon 76 Franklin St., owner reported that somebody possibly loosened their gas line in the rear of the building, it was on fire but the fire is out, fire department shut the gas off, aired out the building and metered the adjacent buildings, Westfield Gas & Electric repaired the gas meter;
2:51 p.m.: accident, 43 Pleasant St. at 15 Hancock St., 2002 Chevy Malibu and 2005 Dodge Neon, no injuries, no tows;
5:18 p.m.: officer wanted, Westfield Soup Kitchen, 101 Meadow St., Jonathan Savard, 23, of 1157 Elm St., Apt. #2left, West Springfield, arrested on an outstanding warrant;
7:08 p.m.: accident, 1 E. Bartlett St., 2005 Chevrolet (towed) and 2005 GMC Yukon, caller reported his roommate’s vehicle, which was parked, was hit by another vehicle, no injuries, Antonio Goncalves, 62, of 70 E. Silver St., Apt. #1fl, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, second offense, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle;
9:46 p.m.: identity fraud, K’s Restaurant, 318 E. Main St., woman from restaurant called to report that a new server has been writing down customers’ credit card numbers along with the numbers on the back of the cards, server was taken to the police station to be interviewed, no arrest at this time, police still investigating;
11:32 p.m.: burglary/breaking and entering, Stop N Go, 37 Mill St., neighbor alerted police to alarm, police found front door of store pushed in, $200 cash and lottery tickets stolen, neighbor reported seeing a man flee in a two-door red sedan with a loud exhaust, burglary under investigation.
