Westfield

9:05 p.m.: structure fire, Winding Ridge Lane, a caller reports that a shed that is close to a house is on fire, the responding firefighters report that the fire had not yet extended to the house by the time they had arrived, the responding deputy fire chief reports that the fire was extinguished and the scene was cleared;

3:44 p.m.: hit-and-run accident, Meadow Street, a caller reports that a motor vehicle struck his parked car and drove off, the responding officer requested a tow truck to remove the struck vehicle from the scene;

4:50 p.m.: structure fire, Crown Street, multiple callers report that a shed that is close to a house is on fire, the responding deputy fire chief reports that the structure was actually a single-car garage and it was not close to any other structures, the deputy chief reports that the fire was extinguished and the scene was cleared;

7:32 p.m.: animal complaint, Bartlett Street, a caller reports that she found a possibly lost black and white cat and is bringing it to the Westfield Police Headquarters, the responding animal control officer reports that the cat was then brought to the Westfield Regional Animal Shelter;

8:31 p.m.: fire outside of structure, East Mountain Road, multiple callers report hearing an explosion and seeing flames nearby, dispatch reports than a male party was attempting to start a fire when the explosion occurred, the responding medics report that one person was transported to Baystate Medical Center, the responding firefighters report that the fire was extinguished.
