2:07 p.m.: assist citizen, Westfield Police Department, 15 Washington St. a resident came to the station in compliance with a demand by the police chief to surrender his guns, the man complied with the demand;
7:23 p.m.: fireworks complaint, police responded to fireworks complaints on New Broadway, First Street, Southampton Road, Ely Street, and Russellville Road but were unable to catch anybody discharging fireworks.
