2:52 p.m.: larceny, Springfield Road, a caller from a Springfield Road department store reports a shoplifter has been detained, the responding officer reports the man was served with a ‘No trespassing’ order and a criminal complaint will be filed;
5:15 p.m.: accident, Little River Road at Ridgecrest Drive, a caller reports a two-vehicle crash, the responding officer reports one of the operators involved was transported to Baystate Noble Hospital, one car was towed to the police impound yard;
6:46 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a radar enforcement officer reports he observed a vehicle traveling at a speed he estimated to be about 60 mph and attempted stop the pickup truck, the officer reports the operator fled, passed through a red light and struck a parked vehicle before stopping, David Protsun, 20, of 21 Birchwood Road, Southwick, was arrested for reckless operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop for police, leaving the scene of property damage, speeding in violation of special regulations, failure to stop or yield and a marked lanes violation.
