WESTFIELD

10:33 a.m.: animal complaint, Western Avenue, a caller reports that he requires assistance in catching an injured duck, the responding animal control officer reports that the duck was brought to the Westfield Regional Animal Shelter to be monitored;

12:01 p.m.: suspicious, Crown Street, a caller reports that he is behind a male party on a bike with a gun in plain view in their waistband, the responding officer reports that an area search turned up negative;

5:35 p.m.: fireworks, North Elm Street, a caller reports that there is a group of youths setting off fireworks on the rail viaduct on North Elm Street, the responding officer reports that he spoke with the youths and advised them to not play with fireworks or on the rail viaduct before sending them on their way;

7:09 p.m.: trespassing, Pochassic Road, a caller reports that there is a vehicle stuck in a field and that she would like the vehicle and operator trespassed from the area, the responding officer reports that a tow truck was already on the way, the officer reports that the vehicle was able to be freed and was sent on its way.
