Major crime and incident report

3:52 p.m.: shoplifting, East Main Street, a caller from an East Main Street store reports that a male party shoplifted items from the store and left before police could be called, the responding officer filed an incident report;
4:31 p.m.: accident, Elm Street, a patrol officer reports a two motor vehicle accident, dispatch reports that an ambulance and fire truck responded to the scene, the responding officer reports that one person was transported to Baystate Noble Hospital, dispatch reports that a tow truck was requested to remove a vehicle from the scene;
5:40 p.m.: robbery, East Main Street, a caller from an East Main Street business reports that a male party robbed the store by threatening employees with a hypodermic needle and taking the cash register, dispatch reports that a Massachusetts State Police K-9 unit was deployed to search for the suspect, the responding police detective reports that multiple witnesses saw the suspect leave the area in a vehicle before police arrived, the responding officer filed an incident report;
9:12 p.m.: animal complaint, Washington Street, an officer reports that he is attempting to corral two loose dogs in the vicinity of the Westfield Police Headquarters, the officer reports that they captured and transported one husky and one brown pitbull mix to the Westfield Regional Animal Shelter.
4:39 p.m.: fire/general service, Point Grove Road, a caller reports that there is heavy smoke visible near Point Grove Road, the responding firefighters report that a three-foot grassy area was burning and subsequently extinguished;
7:59 p.m.: officer wanted, Feeding Hills Road, a caller reports that someone walked into her home uninvited, assaulted her, and took some items before leaving.
