1:05 a.m.: motor vehicle violation and arrest, Tannery Road. Police stopped a vehicle being operated by Tarek M. Elassadi, 20, of Westfield, after doing a routine registration check on the license plate of the vehicle he was operating. According to police, it was found that Elassadi was operating the motor vehicle with a suspended license. They also found marijuana in his possession. Police arrested Elassadi and charged him with operating a motor vehicle with a license suspended, no inspection or sticker and possession of marijuana.

1:58 a.m.: Accident, Great River Bridge. According to police, a motorist called to report a 2003 Jeep Wrangler that struck the bridge and was reportedly going the wrong way. Police reported that the Jeep had lost control after blowing out a tire, which resulted in crashing into the guardrail. No injuries were reported.

5:48 a.m.: Breaking and entering, School Street. Police received a report from a business owner on School Street who said that someone attempted to break into her establishment overnight. She reported that the screens were punched out and cut. However, there were no reports of burglary. Police had no suspects.

11:10 a.m.: Medical emergency, Dry Bridge Road area. Police received a report for a female who had crashed her dirt bike about 400 to 500 yards from the road. The woman also reportedly had a possible broken ankle. Police and Westfield Fire Department personnel responded, including paramedics. The fire department used an off-road vehicle to access the victim and the victim was transported to Baystate by Westfield Fire paramedics.

4:36 p.m.: Assault, Hampden Street. Police received a report for an assault that occurred on Hampden Street. The call was made by a relative of the victim. Police reported that the victim was allegedly punched in the face by another male, but that when asked if he would like to press charges the victim declined. No arrests were made.
