1:30 a.m.: Motor vehicle violation and arrest, Springfield Road. Police stopped a vehicle after randomly accessing their vehicle information via their license plate, which found that the vehicle was unregistered. Police stopped Michael A. Leavy, 62, of Chicopee, and arrested him with charges of operating a motor vehicle with a license suspended, subsequent offense, unregistered motor vehicle and motor vehicle operator refusing to identify themselves.
10:34 a.m.: Accident, East Silver Street and Gold Street. Police received a report that a person who was riding a motorized scooter was hit by a car while driving across a crosswalk. The victim, an elderly male, was reportedly in a motorized scooter and a vehicle turned into him. There were no reported injuries and no arrests.
12:01 p.m.: Shoplifting, Price-Rite, East Main Street. Police received a report of a previous shoplifting that a store employee was able to find an incident of while reviewing camera footage. They reported that approximately $500 worth of beef and lamb was stolen by an unknown person. No additional information available.
12:29 p.m. Larceny, walk-in. Police received a complaint from a man who claimed that they gave a man $800 to hold an apartment. However, the apartment was reportedly rented to someone else and the person refused to return the money. Police are currently investigating.
4:44 p.m.: Larceny, Union Street. Police received a report of a large cooler that was stolen from the back of a store during renovations. There were no witnesses or video. The cooler is estimated to cost $1,000.
11:37 p.m.: Breaking and entering, Union Street. Police received a report that two parties had attempted to break into an apartment through the kitchen window. They received a description of the two males, who reportedly did not steal anything, but were unable to find and arrest them. No additional information available.
