7:55 a.m.:
accident, Friendly’s Ice Cream Corp., 21 Southampton Road, two vehicles, no injuries, no tows;
8:21 a.m.: officer wanted, G&H Manufacturing, 455 North Road, caller reported a man was fraudulently soliciting for Gary Rome Nissan;
12:34 p.m.: accident, City Hall, 59 Court St., three vehicles: 2015 Toyota, 2014 Chevrolet and a 2006 Honda, Toyota towed, no injuries;
1:35 p.m.: fraud, Hillside Road, a city hall employee reported that her mother sent $10,000 to secure the winning of $5,000,000 and a BMW from a scam, police transported her mother to her bank in an attempt to stop payment on the check, call was placed from a 876 area code, Jamaica;
1:46 p.m.: school investigation, Westfield Technical Academy Lower Campus 33, Smith Ave., investigated/report taken;
1:56 p.m.: property found, Hanover Street, landlord reported locating a handgun in an apartment that had been vacant for two months, the gun was not from previous tenants;
2:13 p.m.: investigation, 4 Woodland Ave., dual response, brush fire extinguished;
2:53 p.m.: accident, Horace Mann Building, Westfield State University, 333 Western Ave., patient refused transport, two vehicles towed;
4:45 p.m.: accident, Stop & Shop Supermarket, 57 Main St., minor property damage;
4:52 p.m.: burglary/breaking and entering, 21 Mill St., resident reported coming home and finding door wide open and some items missing;
5:00 p.m.: fire in flower basket, Great River Bridge South Bound, N. Elm Street, dual response, services rendered;
5:01 p.m.: officer wanted, Westfield Soup Kitchen, 101 Meadow St., Anthony Velez, 30, of 306 Elm St., Apt, 7, arrested on charges of trespass;
5:13 p.m.: accident, Pilgrim Candle, 16 Union Ave., two-vehicle accident 2006 Ford and 2007 Toyota, Ford towed, no injuries, DPW notified of sign that was knocked down;
10:23 p.m.: well-being check, E. Mountain Road at Hillcrest Circle, a driver reported that a woman was in the roadway trying to flag down vehicles, Gary M. Beach, 49, of 30 Rosedell Drive, arrested on an outstanding warrant.
