WESTFIELD

10:23 a.m.: structure fire, Elise Avenue, dispatch reports that a fire alarm is sounding in an Elise Avenue facility, the responding Fire Chief reports that a full first alarm response was requested, the responding firefighters report that the fire was knocked down but the sprinklers would remain offline with firefighters remaining until they are back online;

10:59 a.m.: animal complaint, Union Street, a caller reports that there is a raccoon that she believes is rabid in the area, the responding Animal Control Officer reports that the caller state the raccoon was missing hair and was moving from house to house towards the woods, the Animal Control Officer reports that she would not intervene as long as the raccoon was still mobile;

11:37 a.m.: burglary/breaking and entering, Shepard Street, a caller reports that he believes that a male party known to him broke into his house to steal his gun safe, the responding officer completed a police report;

5:30 p.m.: brush fire, Southampton Road, a caller reports that there is a brush fire near Southampton Road basketball courts, the responding Fire Captain reports that the fire is being knocked down and the scene would be clear shortly;

6:00 p.m.: traffic or motor vehicle complaint, East Mountain Road, a caller reports that there is a vehicle operating erratically, the responding officer reports that he located the vehicle after himself observing its erratic operation, the officer reports that he spoke with the operator who did not exhibit signs on intoxication but did appear elderly, the officer reports that the operator’s daughter said that her father was new to the country and had not been driving here for long, the officer reports that the operator and his daughter switched seats so she could drive the rest of the way.

SOUTHWICK

12:45 p.m.: suspicious person, White Street, a white male dressed in black with red hair and a beard was reported taking photos of homes and vehicles, a responding officer was not able to locate the person;

4:44 p.m.: malicious damage, Lexington Circle, a resident reports a vehicle was egged overnight;
