Westfield
10:24 a.m.: animal complaint, Harvard Street, a caller reports that there is a chicken in her yard, the responding animal control officer reports that the chicken was captured and transported to the Westfield Regional Animal Shelter;
8:53 p.m.: disturbance, Springfield Road, a caller from a Springfield Road department store reports that three male parties are jumping on furniture in the store and running around while screaming, the responding officer reports that the male parties could not be located on his arrival.
Southwick
7:33 a.m.: Suspicious activity, Congamond Lake, caller from West Suffield reports an empty kayak in the middle of Middle Pond; police found the vessel and notified lake enforcement for retrieval;
9:50 a.m.: Animal complaint, Bugbee Road, caller reports a neighbor striking and yelling at his dog; police found the neighbor having difficulty housebreaking a puppy; advised there are other ways to train a dog than pushing its face in its mess;
2:33 p.m.: Officer wanted, Berkshire Avenue, caller reports a gathering of picnickers at the pumping station, as well as jet skis operating on the lake at unsafe speeds; police advised boaters of proper speeds when close to the shore and docks;
5:15 p.m.: Officer wanted, North Boat Ramp, caller reports a near-collision on Middle Pond near the boat ramp; police find the other craft was an unregistered personal watercraft; citation issued;
