Major crime and incident report

1:22 p.m.: brush fire, Bates Road, multiple callers report a brush fire approximately 50 feet in length, the responding firefighters report that the fire was smoldering and subsequently put out;

3:33 p.m.: weather complaint, North Road, a caller reports that there is a large tree that came down and is blocking the roadway, dispatch reports that the Department of Public Works responded to remove the tree from the road;

11:52 p.m.: motor vehicle theft, Maple Terrace, a caller reports that he was warming up his vehicle before leaving his house when somebody entered the vehicle and drove away with it, dispatch reports that all officers on duty were advised to be on the lookout for the stolen vehicle, the responding officer filed an incident report.


2:16 p.m.: officer wanted, Fred Jackson Road, a resident requested an officer regarding a neighbor cutting shrubbery at the fence line;

2:46 p.m.: officer wanted, Depot Street, a caller reports a person asking for money using an Instagram account under his name;

5:58 p.m.: assistance, Great Brook Well, Feeding Hills Road, police secured an open gate;

10:01 p.m.: traffic stop, College Highway, an officer observed a vehicle operating 67 mph and activated his lights for a traffic stop, the driver lost control and ran off the road, as the officer approached the vehicle, the driver started the car and accelerated back onto the road heading south, Granby, Conn. Police were notified but unable to pursue the vehicle because of the high rate of speed;

11:18 p.m.: suspicious vehicle, College Highway, a motorist attempted to fill his car with gas while the station was closed.
