10:09 a.m.: animal complaint, Bluemer Road, an animal control officer reports that she is bringing two dog traps to catch two loose dogs near a residence, a caller reports that one of the dogs went into the trap and the other dog is sitting next to it, the animal control officer reports that she was able to apprehend both dogs and transport them to the Westfield Regional Animal Shelter;
11:58 p.m.: accident, Holyoke Road, an off duty officer reports that he struck a deer with his vehicle, which killed the deer instantly, the responding officer reports that the vehicle suffered minor damage and the deer’s remains were removed by a passerby.
Southwick
7:46 p.m.: fireworks complaint, South Loomis Street, a caller reports fireworks being shot off in the area, the responding officer reports that an area check turned up negative.
