Major crime and incident report

12:14 a.m.: breaking and entering motor vehicle, State Street, a caller reports that a male party was seen riding a bicycle and checking the doors to vehicles in the area and that he may have gained access to at least one vehicle, the responding officer reports that Isaac David Duval 24, of 60 Beech St., Holyoke, was place under arrest for breaking and entering into a vehicle or boat at nighttime with the purpose to commit a felony;

8:12 a.m.: accident, Union Avenue, a caller reports that a tractor trailer unit stuck a signal pole and knocked it into the roadway before continuing through the intersection and down the road, the responding officer reports than Westfield Gas and Electric was contacted to inspect the base of the light;

10:42 a.m.: animal complaint, Southwick Road, a caller reports that there is a sick cat behind their building, the responding animal control officer reports that she was able to retrieve the grey cat and transport it to the Westfield Regional Animal Shelter;

6:27 p.m.: animal complaint, Jeremy Drive, a caller reports that he has custody of a stray cat that he trapped, the responding animal control officer reports that the cat was brought to the Westfield Regional Animal Shelter.


2:48 p.m.: assist citizen, Berkshire Avenue, police assisted a motorist who locked their keys and dog in the vehicle.
