WESTFIELD

1:39 a.m.: hit and run accident, Thomas Street, a caller reports that he can see pieces of a vehicle in the road near a knocked over fire hydrant, the responding officer reports that he found a license plate on the scene that came back to a West Springfield resident, the officer reports that West Springfield Police were notified, dispatch reports that West Springfield police located the vehicle with heavy front end damage but were unable to locate the owner, the Westfield police officer reports that contact was later made with the owner who admitted to having struck the fire hydrant;

9:08 a.m.: weather complaint, Orange Street, a caller reports that a large tree branch snapped and is blocking the road, the responding officer reports that he was able to move the branch out of the road himself, the officer reports that he notified the Department of Public Works of the tree so that they may address it;

11:00 a.m.: animal complaint, Loomis Ridge, a caller reports that she has seen two dogs wandering in the neighborhood, the responding Animal Control Officer reports that she could not locate the two dogs;

3:51 p.m.: animal complaint, West Silver Street, a caller reports that there is a loose dog running in and out of the roadway, the responding Animal Control Officer reports that she could not locate the dog.
