3:40 a.m.: motor vehicle theft, Meadow Street, a caller reports he left his keys inside his SUV which was stolen from his girlfriend’s driveway, the responding officer reports the vehicle was recovered on Hanover Street, the officer reports the victim said that some of the property found in the vehicle had not been there when it was stolen, the case was referred to the detective bureau;
8:01 a.m.: larceny, Main Street, a caller from a Main Street supermarket reports a shoplifter has been detained, the responding office reports the caller said that a woman had walked out of the store without paying paying for the merchandise she carried which was valued at $201, the officer reports he found that the woman had been arrested for shoplifting six times previously, Jamie E. Stawarz, 37, of 7 Maple Crest Circle, Apt., C, Holyoke, was arrested for shoplifting by asportation, a subsequent offense, the officer reports that the operator of a vehicle parked in a handicap space near the store was found to be associated with the woman and was the subject of an active warrant issued in 2019 by the Springfield District Court, Nicholas A. Pinto, 34, of 7 Maplecrest Circle, Apt., C, Holyoke, was arrested on the warrant, a parking citation was subsequently issued;
8:56 a.m.: parking violation, Springfield Road, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle park in a handicap space and watched a couple exit the car and enter the store, the officer reports that there was a valid handicap placard displayed and when the operator returned he queried him regarding the ownership of the placard, the man said that it belonged to his father who was not there, a parking citation was issued and the placard was seized;
12:24 p.m.: harassment, Jefferson Street, a resident came to the station to complain that he is being harassed, the responding officer reports the complainant said that a woman trying to reconcile with a former boyfriend is attempting to use him as an intermediary, the officer reports the man was advised to block the caller’s number;
3:51 p.m.: incapacitated person, Springfield Road, a caller reports an unresponsive male party is on the ground near a Springfield Road department store with a bag full of cans of compressed air next to him, the man was transported to Baystate Noble Hospital and, upon his release, Jeffrey D. Krawczyk, 31, of 36 Stuart Place, Westfield, was arrested for inhaling a toxic substance;
5:20 p.m.: breaking and entering, Dubois Street, a patrol officer reports he investigated a report of a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and found that an unlocked SUV had been entered, about $100 in cash and credit cards were reported to have been stolen;
5:55 p.m.: breaking and entering, Dubois Street, a caller reports both his and his wife’s vehicles were broken into, the caller stated that some items were taken and the glove compartments were ransacked;
9:54 p.m.: motor vehicle violations, North Elm Street, a patrol officer reports he stopped two vehicles for drag racing and speeding, traffic citations were issued.
