1:37 a.m.: incapacitated person, Great River Bridget North Elm Street, a caller reports a person is intoxicated and sleeping under the bridge, the responding officer reports the person found under the bridge was the subject of an outstanding warrant issued by the Westfield District Court, Arielle R. Bryant, 21, of 5 Montgomery St., Westfield was arrested on the warrant;
9:55 a.m.: larceny, North Elm Street, a caller from a gas station reports a ‘gas and go’ larceny, the responding office reports he was able to identify the offending tractor trailer operator as a driver for a local business and the man returned to the station to pay for the diesel fuel he had pumped;
4:20 p.m.: disturbance, a caller reports three male parties screaming at each other, the responding officer reports that the verbal disturbance was the result of a failed attempt by a juvenile male to buy marijuana and the youth was yelling at an adult middleman because the person who accepted the money had reneged on the deal and refused to return the money, the officer found that the middleman was the subject of an outstanding warrant issued by the Westfield District Court and Daniel T. Swearingen, 24, of 54 Loomis Ave., Westfield, was arrested on the warrant, the other involved party admitted that he had accepted $50 to buy marijuana for the youth but said he had spent it on marijuana and liquor for himself and did not intend to return the money, Brandon I. Heard, 32, of 9 Hanover St., Apt. B, Westfield was arrested for larceny from a person, see story in the Sept. 25 edition of The Westfield News;
6:56 p.m.: incapacitated person, Franklin Street, a patrol officer reports he encountered an intoxicated man was asked for a courtesy transport to his home where he said his roommates would care for him, the officer reports nobody was at home and the man was transported by fire department ambulance to Baystate Noble Hospital;
9:57 p.m.: incapacitated person, School Street, a caller reports a male party is slumped over a water fountain next to a backpack containing alcohol, the responding officer reports the man apparently fell and hit his head while intoxicated, the man was transported by fire department ambulance to Baystate Noble Hospital;
11:36 p.m.: disturbance, Washington Street, a caller reports a college related disturbance, the responding officers report that peace was restored.
