Major crime and incident report

9:36 a.m.: animal complaint, Northwest Road, a caller reports that there is a loose boxer type dog in the area, the responding animal control officer reports that she could not locate the dog;
10:06 a.m.: animal complaint, Pinehurst Street, a caller reports that there is a loose dog that “somewhat resembles Chewbacca”, the responding animal control officer reports that the dog matches the description of a frequently loose dog in that neighborhood, the animal control officer reports that she could not locate the dog;
11:10 a.m.: assist citizen, Nicholas Lane, a caller reports that her mailbox was snapped in half and there are muddy tire tracks leading to her neighbor’s house from the mailbox, the responding officer reports that he spoke to the neighbor who said it was likely a cement truck that was doing some work on his property, the officer reports that the neighbor would contact the company to seek restitution for the caller’s mailbox;
5:04 p.m.: weather complaint, Union Street, multiple callers report that multiple large trees fell into the road and are blocking traffic, the responding officer reports that the Department of Public Works arrived on scene to remove the trees, the officer reports that portions of Union Street were closed off while the trees were removed;
7:16 p.m.: accident, North Elm Street, a caller reports that she was involved in a two motor vehicle accident in the middle of an intersection, the caller reports that she is not injured but that the other vehicle’s airbags may have deployed, the responding officer reports that a tow truck was requested to remove one of the vehicles from the scene, the responding ambulance reports that it was clear from the scene with no injuries.
12:44 p.m.: larceny, Point Grove Road, an automotive business reports a catalytic converter was removed from a vehicle;
12:52 p.m.: larceny, Point Grove Road, a catalytic converter was removed from a vehicle at a restaurant;
2:05 p.m.: restraining order, South View Drive, a restraining order was served in-hand;
5:23 p.m.: suspicious person, Great Brook Drive, a resident reports an adult male in a red pickup truck was in the neighborhoods and the male started conversations with kids playing in a yard, the caller reports this happened Monday also.
