12:13 a.m.: fire, Russell Road, a caller reports a fire, the responding officer reports that it appears that a structure was involved, the responding firefighters report a large pile (6-8 cords) of dried wood stored near a structure was fully involved, an engine was placed to douse the burning woodpile and protect the structure, two engines were detailed to provide water to that engine and a person was removed from a secondary structure, the fire spread to a nearby shed which was destroyed, the DPW was asked to provide a backhoe to break up the pile of burning wood in order to complete the extinguishment of the fire;
12:20 p.m.: school investigation, Westfield Technical Academy, 33 Smith Avenue, a school resource officer reports he resolved an issue relative to an on-line posting which had been a cause of contention;
2:31 p.m.: larceny, East Main Street, a caller reports a wallet was stolen, the responding officer reports that the complainant said that a wallet was left on the counter of a retail establishment and when it was recovered $35 was found to be missing, the caller does not require a formal report;
10:33 p.m.: larceny, Main Street, a caller report his cell phone was stolen at a fast food restaurant, the responding officer reports the complainant said that he had inadvertently left the phone in the bathroom and when he returned for it he found it gone.
