11:09 a.m.: identity fraud, Bates Road, a resident came to the station to complain that his identity was fraudulently used in a traffic violation in Florida and now his Massachusetts driver’s license is affected, the responding officer reports the complainant said that he has never been to Florida, an incident report was completed for the victim to use while dealing with the Registry of Motor Vehicles;
1:25 p.m.: found property, Franklin Street, a patrol officer reports he located a black mountain bike which had apparently been abandoned in a Franklin Street parking lot, the officer reports the owner could not be determined and the bike was transported to the station for safe keeping;
5:33p.m.: accident, Southampton Road, multiple callers report a two-car head-on crash, dual response dispatched, the responding officers report one operator was found be deceased and the other was transported to Baystate Medical Center, the roadway was closed and traffic was detoured via Apremont Way until 11:03 p.m. while investigators from the city and state police began their investigation, both vehicles were towed to the police impound yard, see story in the Thursday, Feb. 6 edition of The Westfield News.
