8:17 a.m.: breaking and entering, Orange Street, a caller reports her home was entered a few days previously and miscellaneous items were stolen, the responding officer reports the woman said that pillows were stolen which had been in a closet she discovered which leads to the adjacent building, the woman said someone appeared to be living in the closet, she also said $40 was missing from her apartment;
11:06 a.m.: animal complaint, Western Avenue, an animal control office reports she took custody of a stray Chihuahua dog and transported it to the animal shelter;
11:52 a.m.: assist other agency, Southampton Road, a school resource officer reports he assisted Department of Children and Families workers in an investigation which resulted in the transfer of four children to DCF custody;
12:53 p.m.: fire, Woodsong Road, a caller reports a neighbor is burning something, the responding firefighters report they arrived to find a resident extinguishing an unauthorized controlled fire;
2:22 p.m.: accident, Union Street, a patrol officer reports that while he was making a turn the operator of the vehicle behind his cruiser had to stop suddenly, a third vehicle did not stop in time to avoid a collision with the second vehicle which was pushed into his cruiser, the operator of the vehicle which initiated the crash admitted she had been texting, both civilian vehicles were towed to the police impound yard and the officer was transported to Baystate Noble Hospital by ambulance where he was treated and released;
2:45 p.m.: counterfeiting, Little River Road, a convenience store worker reports a customer spent a fraudulent $100 bill, the responding officer reports the bill was tested and initially appeared to be genuine but was later found to be bogus, the officer reports that there is no indication that the unknown customer knew the money was counterfeit;
3:48 p.m.: fraud, Lockhouse Road, a resident came to the station to complain that she is being harassed by a putative purchaser of a piano she posted for sale online, the responding office reports the woman said that she received a $2,700 check for the purchase of a $300 piano and the check was found to be fraudulent;
8:56 p.m.: fire, Southampton Road, a caller reports a neighbor is burning something and flames can be seen 20 feet in the air, the responding officer reports he advised the resident of the pertinent regulations, the responding firefighters report the resident was pouring buckets of water on his fire when they arrived and they stood by until it was extinguished;
11:43 p.m.: suspicious person, Main Street, a convenience store worker called to report that a man wearing black clothing and sunglasses who dropped a large knife appears to be casing the store, the responding officer reports the man was identified and sent on his way.
